We provide our people with training throughout their careers and make available a range of opportunities to help them develop.

Professional qualifications

Each of our business areas is committed to harnessing and promoting technical excellence. We support employees and invest in professional membership fees for role-specific professional body membership.

We have a number of accredited and approved professional training schemes with institutions such as the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Institution of Engineering and Technology and the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management. In addition, all our employees have the opportunity to apply for study support to further their professional competence and career.

Project management

Project management is the backbone of what we do and an area in which we are committed to excellence. This is supported by our corporate accreditation to the Association for Project Management (APM) putting us in the top 10% of project management practitioners in the UK.

Our new project management training programme, launched in October 2014, ensures that all employees who are involved with, manage or direct projects and programmes are qualified (or working towards) relevant APM qualifications.

Business leadership

Great leadership is at the heart of all successful companies. We are committed to excellence in all we do and as part of this we need to ensure that the Mouchel Leadership Team is creating a culture of accountability; fostering collaboration; ensuring innovation is valued; and creating great relationships both with our clients and with our people. Our ‘Leadership Passport’ is a leadership development programme aimed to ensure our leaders have the skills and knowledge required to meet the standards required in Mouchel.

Individual development

Our team of dedicated learning and development specialists supports both managers and employees across the business with development needs. Our ‘Learning for All’ approach consists of behavioural, business skill, management and leadership development and includes interactive workshops, training programmes and online learning modules. Our portfolio of training is ever-expanding and adapts to meet both business and individual requirements.
