Environmental management

Environmental managementWhy this is important to us

Growing pressure on clients to respond to tightening environmental legislation has led to more stringent environmental criteria within their purchasing decisions. As experts in the environmental sciences, Mouchel is working with clients and partners every day to reduce the environmental burden associated with the delivery of the UK’s essential asset management, maintenance and citizen services.

Our approach

The Head of Assurance is responsible for day-to-day environmental policy and procedure. He is responsible to a director, who reports directly to the chief executive. Mouchel’s Environmental Management System (EMS) provides the direction and framework for all of the Group's activities and is supported through role-based training (delivered via an e-learning portal and a comprehensive SHE training programme).

Mouchel’s EMS meets the requirements of the environmental management system standard ISO 14001:2004 and is registered through external verification by Lloyds Register Quality Assurance.

Our performance

In the year ending 31 July 2011 there were no enforcement actions against Mouchel relating to environmental matters and we have continued to encourage greater levels of incident reporting throughout the business - to ensure better visibility of potential regulatory risks within both office and site environments.
