Waste planning

We provide waste planning services to commercial organisations and local authorities to supporting the development of internal planning strategies. Our services range from strategic planning advice to the preparation and submission of detailed planning applications for new waste management facilities.

Services include:

Strategic planning advice, support to outline business cases (OBCs) and PFI applications, preparation of waste Development Plan Documents (DPDs), site selection aligned with waste DPD and RSS sustainability indicators (Regional Spatial Strategy), deliverability assessment, land acquisition, detailed planning applications, stakeholder management, consultation, communications and PR.

We enable clients to plan their strategy for delivering new waste management facilities or develop of waste DPDs more effectively. Planning is widely recognised as being the most significant risk to the success of delivering new waste management facilities. Mouchel helps to manage that risk at all stages of the planning process.

The team is currently providing innovative and ground breaking strategic planning advice in support of OBC applications for PFI credits.

We develop Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) to support planning applications for significant waste facilities. All survey work and chapters of the EIA are prepared by in-house specialists. We also provide land acquisition services to our clients and can offer compulsory purchase advice to local authority clients.
