Severn Trent

Joint Venture (JV): Our team of experts within Mouchel's water business support Severn Trent Water maintain its assets through a framework contract with Severn Trent Water. Our role is to provide multi-disciplinary design services in support of two design and build frameworks which will deliver approximately £150m of clean water and waste water improvements to facilities in the Severn Trent region. These frameworks enable our team to have a direct input to improving the quality of both the local drinking water and the effluent being discharged from treatment works.

The team is involved in the renewal, refurbishment and general improvements to the waste and clean water facilities, as well as the maintenance and upgrading of sewers and water mains. The most prestigious project is for flood alleviation works to the Mythe Water Treatment Works near Tewksbury, which suffered severe flooding in 2007 as a result of high water levels in the rivers Severn and Avon. Other projects include work forming an integral part of the strategy to rationalise Severn Trent¿s clean water assets, and many vital upgrades to their existing water treatment plants. The wastewater team has intermittent discharge targets, upgraded several waste water treatment plants to meet looming EU legislation and removed many properties currently at risk of flooding from the DG5 register.
