Land referencing
Our land referencing team undertake inquiry in the identification of all interests in, on or over land. The inquiry is required to notify affected parties of proposals in order to enter into an agreement or to compulsorily acquire those rights.
Land referencing involves researching publicly available data such as Land Registry information and conducting face-to-face consultations with affected parties. The research aims to ascertain freeholds, leases, tenancies, other occupiers, public and private rights and easements, covenants, charges and any other rights held or enjoyed over public and private property. The collated data is used to create land ownership plans and schedules that form the basis of statutory required documents for planning application submissions.
