Hydrogeology
Assessing and managing the risks to water resources from potentially contaminated land is a key aspect of resolving clients’ problems and allowing site development or managing their liabilities.
Our hydrogeologists work in teams of scientists and engineers, combining technical excellence with practical know-how to produce workable risk-based remediation strategies.
We provide: design and implementation of site investigations and monitoring; problem conceptualisation/ quantitative risk assessment; groundwater flow and contaminant transport modelling; and groundwater protection strategies.
We also offer regulator and contractor liaison, remediation strategy and design, and implementation of remediation.
We are familiar with all the main risk assessment tools such as the Environment Agency’s R&D P20 model, Consim, RBCAToolkit, RAM and so on. We support our data analysis with tools such as Surfer, gINT and Arcview.
Our groundwater modellers are expert in the use of Visual MODFLOW.
Mouchel has developed its own web-based GIS and data management tool SISTAR.
