Human health risk assessment
We assess and manage the risks to human health from land that may potentially be contaminated. Assessing the risks to human health is a key aspect of the redevelopment and regeneration of brownfield sites and other potentially contaminated or sensitive end-use land. Our work involves providing a planning requirement and identifies any liabilities for our clients in terms of the impacts of their property to their site users, the public and potential trespassers.
Using initial problem conceptualisation - a conceptual site model, highlighting the likely locations of contamination and human exposure routes - a risk assessment can be used to design the most cost effective site investigation.
We undertake both Generic Risk Assessment (GQRA), and Detailed Risk Assessment (DQRA)including food chain uptake. We also provide regulator liaison services and remediation design, implementation and validation.
