Environmental assessment and management
We ensure that the environmental obligations and aspirations of our clients are integrated into their projects throughout the decision making processes. This aim allows environmental risks to be managed and addressed, and opportunities harnessed, throughout a project, plan or programme's life cycle. We produce informal and formal assessments, including Environmental Statements (ESs), Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEAs), Sustainability Appraisals, Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPS), WebTAG documents, Highways Agency environmental assessment reports, Rail Gate reports, BREEAM and CEEQUAL Assessments, and environmental licensing/permitting documents.
A principal part of our work is satisfying the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) requirements associated with the Town and Country Planning Act, the IPC Planning Act, the Highways Act, Transport and Works Act, Harbour Works Act and Water Resources Act. Our Environmental Statements (ES)documents form a central part of the planning application process.
With regards to SEA and SA, we provide the necessary statutory documents in support of the delivery of various transport, mineral, coastal, waste, defence and development plans, policies and programmes.
Our core services include feasibility appraisals, risk and opportunities assessments, baseline studies, impact assessments, and the development of mitigation, management and enhancement strategies.
As part of our service delivery we manage the consultation process and work with the public and stakeholders, hold public forums and provide expert witness at public inquiry.
