Provision of advice on material use, specification and structural detailing to ensure that, with planned maintenance, structures can achieve their design lives.

We work with the structural design team at the conceptual stage to inform on choice of materials and structural form. We provide a review and audit at the preliminary design stage (review of principal components and arrangements) and the detailed design stage (review of details). We also produce material specifications.

This service is provided by members of the structural maintenance team, an expert team comprising engineers and materials technologists. The team includes a number qualified to PhD level, who have detailed knowledge of structure deterioration processes, gained from the investigation of existing structures.

Our team are industry experts. Close contact is also maintained with other industry experts to ensure that the expertise available is at the forefront of the technology area.

We also have particular expertise in concrete technology and electrochemical preventative techniques.
