Overview
The Wyvern Special School, a new Special Secondary School, was developed on the former site of a highways depot.
Provided for Kent County Council using contractor Wates Construction Ltd., the school incorporates sports facilities including a sports hall and a hydrotherapy pool, as well as a six lane running track on the grounds.
The design enables the local community to make use of these facilities. Alongside more new specialist teaching spaces, the school also boasts access to the River Great Stour for nature studies, a sensory garden in one main courtyard, and further ‘habitat’ areas at the site boundary.
