Overview
This new build design project for Kemsley Primary School was the result of a collaboration with renowned architect Sir Colin Stansfield-Smith.
The school, a brand new FE1 school, utilised unique materials. For example, the contemporary design made extensive use of sustainable sources of timber for the timber-framed construction and the timber cladding.
Teaching spaces are extendable into the courtyards enabling the school to expand the capacity of the classrooms.
This bold and innovative concept has allowed Kemsley Primary School staff and students to benefit from embracing the learning through the landscape agenda, with the design taking careful consideration of the environmental impact of the buildings.
