Pavement engineering and management
Our service provides a dedicated in-house technical team to meet the increasing demand for pavement engineering skills. The team provides knowledge of pavement evaluation, deterioration modelling, pavement management systems, whole-life cycle analysis, ground penetrating radar, design, build, finance and operate (DBFO) maintenance management, economic analysis, and video data capture.
The team currently provide assistance to a number of highway teams to deliver pavement designs for new or maintenance schemes. A typical pavement package includes evaluation, design of elements, preparation of specification appendices and construction drawings. We are also responsible for forward works programming, scheme identification, value management and whole life cost analysis for HA Areas 1 & 3. We provide long term strategic asset management for a number of DBFO clients including the M74 in Scotland, a section of the A1M and the A417/419 Swindon to Gloucester link road. We hold the technology to undertake detailed visual surveys using the latest video data capture systems. On a recent commission for Hertfordshire County Council we have undertaken a survey on the whole network totalling over 5,000km.
