Transport planning & development

We provide transportation modelling services and we are a trusted development planning partner enabling private and public sector clients unlock the value of land assets.

Our teams help clients obtain planning approval on major development sites, with our transport planning team often working closely with our public sector clients to secure funding and frequently helping private and public sector clients develop schemes from concept through to planning.

We’re involved in the development planning for some of the UK’s most high-profile major projects, managing the statutory processes for land acquisition to transform them from aspiration to reality, among them Crossrail, Thames Tideway Tunnel, and the A5 Western Transport Corridor in Northern Ireland.

We oversaw the design and consents for highways and public realm infrastructure for the iconic Shard/New London Bridge House development, as well as the £2.2 billion Aylesbury Estate and £6 billion Elephant and Castle regenerations.

Our environmental specialists unlock land for infrastructure and housing development through assessing and managing constraints, providing design input and guiding developers through the planning process.

We have in-depth understanding of local authority planning, highways and property processes enabling us to deliver development infrastructure with full compliance, high quality, minimised costs and accelerated programmes.

We’re providing the transport planning to help gauge the feasibility of a trans-Pennine tunnel which could significantly improve journeys across the spine of England.

Since 2010 our transport planners have worked for nearly 200 clients in the UK and Middle East, including almost 50 local authorities, advising on over 500 potential retail sites and helping provide 10,000 new school places and 25,000 new homes, and enabling more than 500,000 m² of retail/mixed use developments.

With our support, through competitive bidding in the UK our public sector clients have secured around £400 million for major infrastructure schemes such as the strategically important Leeds/Bradford airport link.

In the UK, half a million drivers benefit each day from over 200 km of new and improved highway infrastructure, including £1.2 billion on smart motorways, thanks to efforts by our teams.

Our expertise is deployed on a broad range or projects in the Middle East. We’re transport master planners for the large and multi-use Al Fahid development off the coast of Abu Dhabi, and we provide land development services to master developers on virgin land, greenfield and brownfield sites across the region.

We designed sustainable infrastructure such as highways, drainage, utilities and telecommunications for the Emirati Neighbourhood in Abu Dhabi which will house over 3,000 families.

Recognising our capability we’ve now been appointed in Saudi Arabia to provide the infrastructure design services for the Qassim 2 and Sudair Construction Material Zone industrial areas – each site covering about 5 km².
