Our environment services fall into two broad categories: planning and land services.
Environmental investigations such as contaminated land surveys and air quality monitoring are of increasing international importance – sustainable design requires technical environmental input.
It is critical that any environmental concerns are considered early on during a project to ensure the immediate identification of risks and allow for environmental and social inputs to be made at the design stage.
We work with our clients to help them meet or exceed environmental regulatory and legislative standards and we have the scale to provide end-to-end environmental services, from project conception, securing permits and permissions through to support during construction and ongoing monitoring and maintenance.
Our international team has a long track record of achieving successful outcomes for clients. We have in-house experts working across a range of disciplines such as acoustics, air quality, ecology, environmental management, heritage, hydrogeology, hydrology, land quality, planning and geotechnics.
We have delivered the environmental services underpinning the success of many large projects, such as HS2 and the new A5 motorway in Ireland.
Mouchel’s expertise has been rewarded with the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) EIA Environmental Impact Assessment Quality Mark. This benchmarks our activities and allows us to demonstrate our commitment to excellence.
Mouchel has provided land referencing services for many of the UK’s most prominent and strategic infrastructure development projects over the past 20 years. Our core services include land referencing and statutory processes, geospatial systems, topographic surveying and quantity surveying.
Infrastructure spending in the UK is set to increase significantly over the next five to 10 years. Network Rail plans to invest £16bn between 2014 and 2016, there will be significant investment in major road building, and there is a £200bn pipeline of infrastructure projects in the Energy sector.
We are ideally placed to support such projects with our team of geographers, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) surveyors and land information specialists.
We work with regulated industries in both the private and public sectors, including:
We focus on providing value to clients by delivering the right outcomes in the most efficient way – maximising the success of planning applications by ensuring that all necessary consents and permissions are identified and met. For construction, we deliver highly specialist, technical environmental skills to deliver projects on time and to budget, then we provide the monitoring and maintenance services to ensure that our clients’ infrastructure performs just as it should.
In 2010, we completed the largest ever land assessment and remediation of an occupied housing estate in Wigan, Greater Manchester, which won both the ICE North West Community Award and Mouchel Community Benefits Excellence Award.
