About PeekMouchel

PeekMouchel is a 50/50 Joint Venture between Peek Traffic Ltd and Mouchel Group Plc; the JV was formed to bid for TechMACs (Technology Managing Agent Contractor) Contracts which are let by the Highways Agency; both Peek and Mouchel complement each other through their core skill sets. The alliance was formed in 2006 to bid for the North West TechMAC, which was the second TechMAC to be let by the Highways Agency, unfortunately PeekMouchel were unsuccessful. The next two TechMACs to be let by the HA were East Midlands and East TechMAC, PeekMouchel were awarded both of these contracts in June 2007 and took possession of the Network in October 2007.

The TechMACs primary role is to ensure that the technology assets that HA use to keep road users informed of road conditions ahead through Message Signs and Matrix Signals are kept fully serviceable and available to the Highways Agency Traffic Officers (HATOs), by means of Planned and Corrective Maintenance activities. In addition to the signs and signals there are also emergency telephones and CCTV equipment that are used by the HA to assist in helping road users, all information is fed back to the HAs Regional Control Centres (RCC) via a backbone network. The RCCs are strategically located, East Midlands TechMAC is in Nottingham and the East TechMAC is in South Mimms.

In addition to Planned and Corrective maintenance PeekMouchel also provide consultancy services, through feasibility, Design, Environmental Health and Safety studies.
