Management consulting sub-consultants
Welcome
Mouchel’s Management Consulting business works across the public sector and regulated industries on a variety of projects and programmes. While we have over 200 consultants, frequently we need to supplement our own staff to respond to high demand for particular skills or sometimes to provide a particular specialism.
We use sub-consultants and interims to make up this shortfall - and actively maintain a register of trusted individuals who we can call on from time to time. While a major part of what we do is the design and implementation of consulting solutions, by working in partnership with clients we recognise that sometimes they have:
done a large part of the work themselves, and they just need an expert with the relevant experience,
a long-term contact with a systems integrator partner and just need someone to provide technical or management assurance to ensure that the system integrator solution is technologically the best option and will meet their business needs, and
a resourcing or skills shortage.
In response to our clients needs, our account management teams market our Interim and Contractor Services for all categories of management consultants, project managers, ICT skills and interim line managers in Corporate Services and Business Operations functions.
The work we offer our sub consultants is no different to that we offer our permanent staff - you will work at the same level with the same responsibilities according to your experiences. Sub consultants contribute a key resource pool for Mouchel’s business growth.
An exciting development is the expansion of our largely UK business to international clients, building on the Mouchel Group strengths. Initially we will be focussing on consulting to public services and government clients in the Middle East, based in Abu Dhabi. Should you be specifically interested in management consulting contract assignments in the Middle East, please let us know.
Our projects
Our projects arise from two sources:
First, we sell consulting solutions to support and deliver benefits to a client, often requiring a team to be mobilised at short-notice.
Second, we respond to short-term requirements that we receive through framework contracts such as Buying Solutions. For these requirements, we need to be able to respond in three to five days, the client typically conducts interviews, and work starts within a matter of days or a few weeks. In this respect, it is attractive for sub consultants to have quick notice and a quick start on fees.
Almost all of our projects require our consultants to work on client-site in full-time roles. The majority of our work is in the UK typically at offices of government departments and agencies around the country – but note our expansion of consulting assignments in the Middle East.
What we look for in sub consultants
All our sub consultants must work through a Ltd company. Typically, we look for the following attributes in our associates:
a minimum of five years' experience with any of the blue chip management consultancy, IT company OR as a practising independent consultant or interim
degree qualified
experience gained with public service clients or as a public sector employee
specific expertise that matches our key requirements:
- Project and Programme Management
- Change Management
- IT system design and implementation
- Specific IT design/implementations skills (eg, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft)

- Human Resources
If you can sell yourself to us without the above attributes – do contact us and try us out. We are an equal opportunities employer, but note that some roles are limited by our clients to staff with EC status and UK residency for three years.
