Mouchel’s Ecology team provides a high standard of professional ecological consultancy services supporting the planning and implementation of development projects of all scales. We operate throughout the UK undertaking ecological surveys and appraisals to inform projects from their conceptual design to post-construction monitoring. We regularly design and implement mitigation, management and monitoring plans for the discharge of Planning Conditions, habitat creation, ecological restoration, reclamation and enhancement programmes.
The services we provide include: Ecological surveys of terrestrial and aquatic environments, habitats and flora and fauna. Our staff includes botanists, ornithologists and licensed protected species experts in bats, badgers, otters, dormice, amphibians, invertebrates and other specialist groups. Ecological impact assessments supporting planning applications, BREEAM code for sustainable buildings appraisal, and habitats regulations assessment. Expert witness services including legal advice and representation at public inquiry. Ecological design of mitigation and enhancement measures, green infrastructure, and specifications for ecological management plans and habitat creation schemes. Specialist ecological advisory services such as the design of control strategies for invasive (Schedule 9) plant species, and scientific advisory services. Construction site supervision including ecological clerk of works services, watching briefs, and the design and implementation of monitoring programmes.
All of our work is fully supported by in-house GIS expertise. Many of our staff are chartered and all hold membership of professional bodies including the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management and are bound by their professional Codes of Conduct. We pride ourselves in delivery of cost-effective, high quality ecological consultancy services that are focused on the specific requirements of our clients and their projects. | |
