About Us
Our Engineering and Environment team constitutes one of the principal service offerings provided by Mouchel. It comprises everything from environmental consultancy right through to large joint ventures and capital design frameworks with water utility companies.
We work with every single water and sewage utility in England and Wales together with Scottish Water and Department for Regional Development (DRD) Water Service in Northern Ireland, delivering a full range of professional engineering services. We work collaboratively with Joint Venture (JV) partners such as Kier, Murphy, and Interserve (KMI+).
In addition to our extensive portfolio of major water utility frameworks we have a number of specialist teams working across a broad range of discipline areas within the wider water and environment sector.
For example, our rivers and floods defence teams work for a variety of clients, including local and regional government bodies and private developers throughout England and Scotland. We undertake a variety of analytical techniques to evaluate flood risk, including computational hydrological and hydraulic modelling and economic appraisal in accordance with Defra’s Project Appraisal Guidelines - alongside the evaluation and design of flood alleviation schemes. Following the recent significant flooding events across the UK workload in this area is at an all-time high.
Mouchel’s capital projects teams based across the country deliver feasibility, design and supervision of projects in a huge variety of sectors. These include infrastructure, regeneration, inland waterways, harbours, marinas and industrial sectors.
Our planning, land and environmental expertise allows us to cover all aspects of the development cycle including:
identification of land ownership
statutory procedures concerned within land purchase
valuation, planning applications, public consultation and stakeholder engagement
environmental impact assessment with the complete range of environmental disciplines in-house
identification and treatment of contaminated land
rights of way
geotechnical investigation and design
topographical surveys
ecology
landscape planning and design
Our specialist, multi-disciplined teams also bring expertise in collecting, analysing and managing large quantities of data and land information reliably and cost-effectively. This knowledge and experience is underpinned by powerful system developments and technologies that enable us to manage our projects intelligently and deliver them proficiently.
