HR transactional service

Contracts and pay

The service ensures academies, schools and colleges are compliant with relevant regulations and assured that statutory requirements are met.

The service includes:

  • General Teaching Council checks

  • Criminal Records Bureau checks and ISA registration

  • Occupational health checks

  • Production of employment contracts

  • Job evaluation process

  • issuing contracts of employment and letters confirming any changes to conditions of employment to employees and send a copy to schools

  • advising on and administering issues in relation to maternity leave in accordance with the Burgundy Book (teachers) and Single Status (support staff)

Teachers' pension

We will support and advise on teacher peneions including:

  • notify starters, leavers and all contractual changes

  • complete statutory annual service return by due date (31 August) 

  • do salary assessments for new starters 

  • provide schools with advice and guidance on teachers' salaries including progression to the upper pay scale and leadership scales 

  • calculate earnings used for retirement payments.
