Improving health and wellbeing
Our work in health and wellbeing confirms our understanding that lifestyles and habits established during childhood, and adolescence shape and influence the health of the nation. Schools play a vital role in the wellbeing of children and their families.
Mouchel’s work at both a national and local level is widely recognised. Through partnership with the Department of Health on the Healthy Schools programme, we have worked with all local authorities. Schools have a statutory duty to support the health and wellbeing for all their children and young people and we have provided training and web-based tools to support schools with this. Our work is outcome focussed and we work in partnership with the Department of Health; Department for Education (DfE); schools, local authorities to help children, and families make informed choices and to find innovative ways to improve health outcomes for all.
Our range of support includes:
The development of web based tools and use of data
The development of school and community based health programmes to effect behaviour change
The review of current provision to make recommendations for future improvement and identify impact measures for whole school self-evaluation
Training to address health and wellbeing issues such as bullying which occur in and around schools
