Our services
Mouchel has a strongly education-focused, technical advisor team. The team has experience of providing technical services in Building Schools for the Future (BSF), academies, primary schools, and the FE sector. This builds on the expertise of Mouchel as a whole acting as technical advisor for Public-Private Partnership and PFI projects across sectors including health, local government, higher education, courts and prisons.
Mouchel’s Education Services provides a strong ‘in-house’ design capability across a range of technical disciplines, supplemented by an established supply chain including quantity surveyors, architect, building services engineers, structural engineers, civil engineers, building surveyors and Construction Design Management (CDM) co-ordinators. The majority of our technical staff have chartered professional status, including membership RIBA, RICS, CIBSE, ICE, and IStructE.
Our approach
Our technical advisors are adept at working with clients, bidders, building users, and stakeholders to develop solutions which are technically excellent, affordable and offer value for money. They do this through providing Technical Leadership to delivery, with a focus on the following areas:
Sustainability: including CABE assessment and sustainability input with Bream assessments and DQ I facilitation
Estate assessment: for condition of existing estate, to inform feasibility and options appraisal
Planning: reducing planning risk whilst maintaining bidder flexibility
Surveys and legal title: ensuring a robust suite of warranted site surveys, and legal title investigations
Outline business case: thought providing an extensive experience of business cases development for a range of procurement types
Options appraisal: developing clear and concise option appraisals and feasibility studies, balancing capital costs with whole life value
Procurement: providing technical leadership to development of output specifications, technical evaluation and engagement with bidders
Project coordination: including ICT installation, decant , FF&E
Facilities management: ensuring operational and lifecycle requirements are fully addressed within technical proposals
Establishing credibility and good working relationship with stakeholders
