BREEAM and energy
Mouchel manages the environmental impact of new projects and programmes via skills in applying the BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) and our energy and carbon management capability.
BREEAM is the leading and most widely used environmental assessment method for buildings. It sets the standard for best practice in sustainable design and has become the de facto measure used to describe a building's environmental performance. Mouchel has accredited assessors who work with design teams to measure environmental performance and use their experience to help designers improve the sustainability of the design.
Our energy managers have a range of skills including:
Energy use modelling for new projects
Energy cost modelling to support lifecycle cost planning
Energy efficiency initiatives for existing buildings
Working with schools, teachers and school-keepers on a day to day basis to improve energy efficiency in schools
Carbon footprint measurement and management for schools and local authorities
