James Findlay

James graduated from Camborne School of Mines, University of Exeter, with a BEng (Hons) in Industrial Geology in 1999.  He joined Mouchel in 2005, and is based in the London Euston Office.

"Before joining Mouchel I spent 4 years with two significant Engineering Consultancies as a Geotechnical Engineer and two years as a Design Engineer for a large piling contractor.”

"I am currently responsible for the London Geotechnics Team. We serve a wide range of internal and external Clients on geotechnical projects ranging from highway upgrades to rail station developments to mineral resource assessments. My current role combines geotechnical work with the day to day management of the team, including business development, project delivery and resource planning.

My career in Geotechnics allows for a balanced split between site and office based work. During my time at Mouchel I have also been given the opportunity to work overseas, most notably a five week period working on a water front development in Dubai, UAE.

Career development

Mouchel allows me the opportunity to progress both the technical and business aspects of my career. They recently enabled me to complete the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting and are continuing to support me as I progress my chosen future career path in management.

The on-going growth of Mouchel will result in exposure to an even wider range of projects and skill sets, further increasing the interesting and challenging workload.
