Mouchel win talent management award

The HR team, headed by group HR director Ruth Mundy, won the award after submitting an entry describing how they had introduced more effective ways of growing and developing our people.
The background to this is the need to support the business achieve the Corporate Plan – aiming to increase the number of staff to 15,000 by 2012, to meet the board’s aim of growing turnover from £350m to £1.25bn, increasing the profit margin to 8%. As a result the HR team have implemented several key actions.
These actions include: introducing structured capability assessments, improving the way line managers recruit, identify and develop talent and enhancing our succession planning processes.
”Mouchel has an ambitious growth strategy that required an ambitious approach to talent,” commented the Personnel Today judges. “HR set about changing the mindset of the business, in partnership with it, by working with the current culture and empowering its people to manage talent. The talent management strategy has clarity, is results-focused and is aligned with the aspirations of the business."
Ruth Mundy and Rose Bevan, head of resourcing and talent management, were at the award ceremony, along with a cross-section of the 80-strong team.
"The Personnel Today Awards are the most prestigious awards in the HR calendar,” said Ruth. “In addition to this being a great achievement by the HR team in winning the award, it also raises awareness of our brand and demonstrates excellence in the way that we manage our people.”
The ceremony is one of the biggest networking industry events of the year with around 1,300 HR professionals attending. Held on 27 November in the Grosvenor House Hotel, the award ceremony was presented by Dara O’Briain, host of popular television series ‘Mock the Week’.
Other companies competing for the prize were Barratt Developments, Big Lottery Fund, and British American Tabacco.
Mouchel and Lincolnshire County Council win Public Private Partnership Achievement of the Year Award
Mouchel and Lincolnshire County Council have won the Municipal Journal's annual award for the Public Private Partnership Achievement of the Year.
Representatives of the council and Mouchel attended the awards presentation evening on 26 June at London's Park Lane Hilton where broadcaster Jon Snow announced our success over five other finalists in front of a 900+ audience of public and private sector organisations.
The award submission focused on the Council’s Social Inclusion policy highlighting the work undertaken by the partnership to make services accessible to the county’s most disadvantaged communities. This, along with the demonstration of impressive investment in new technology and new change management skills meant the judges had a clear winner.
The award comes as the successful partnership between Lincolnshire County Council and Mouchel is confirmed to continue until at least 2011 following a recent contract extension
The partnership has flourished over the past eight years, making savings in excess of £60m, with Mouchel delivering a range of quality services to the county council including HR, IT, Finance, Property and Catering.
